--Environmentally-friendly hotels conserve resources, save money and attract customers--
(Bali, Indonesia) --- Ayodya Resort Bali was appointed host venue for a seminar by GreenAsia that was recently attended by Hotel & Resort General Manager's, Hospitality Executives and Hotel Engineers from the Bali Hotel Association. GreenAsia Group is the first voluntary carbon management solution-provider based in Asia. Established in Singapore in 2007, GreenAsia works with businesses, organisations and projects to assist them to become carbon neutral. The process begins with carbon footprint assessment, which ultimately identifies the actions required to reduce and achieve greater energy efficiency.
The seminar reinforced to local hoteliers the importance of corporate social responsibility and making the effort to understand the impact that each property has on the local environment. While positive steps are gradually being taken by hotels in Bali to address energy efficiency, it is crucial to act immediately.
Host venue for the seminar, Ayodya Resort Bali is proud of its 'go green' stance and the decisions that have been made to ensure that the next generation inherits a cleaner and greener planet. The resort has implemented a concise environmental policy to communicate the benefits of 'green living' to in-house guests as well as employees. This includes a programme that encourages the reuse of bed linen and towels. Additionally, low-flow faucets have been installed in all bathroom facilities to conserve water. Innovative energy saving Genny Lamps are used throughout the resort in guest rooms and outlets, while high-efficiency compact fluorescent lighting and low-impact pumps for garden water fountains are being utilised.
Waste reduction is also emphasised through a strict recycling program. A conscious effort is being made to purchase products with recyclable contents and limited packaging. All departments have been advised be aware of paper usage and the unnecessary printing of emails, faxes and other in-house data. Indoor air quality has been improved through efficient air-conditioning filters, a High Energy Particulate Air (HEPA) filtered vacuum and the use of environmentally safe cleaning materials.
'We are committed to protecting our environment and preserving our natural resources. We are proof that guests can enjoy upscale luxury while practicing low impact living. Hopefully other hotels and resort in Bali will be inspired by our efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle,' comments Mr. Frank A. Liepmann, General Manger of Ayodya Resort Bali.
